Balancing Life

“For me, life is all about balance. This is why I enjoy so many things outside technology.”

As the director of Office of Arts & Sciences Information Services, OASIS, a big part of Andy Lang’s life deals with technology, but it’s his hobbies that keep life balanced.

When he was young, watching his parish organist play inspired him to start his own career at 12. Since earning a master’s degree in music in organ performance, Lang has played at countless venues, including the Notre Dame Cathedral.

“I think that if I were to do just technology, I would feel out of balance; similarly, if I were to do just music, I wouldn’t feel balanced either. . . Being involved in the arts gives you an unfettered avenue for creativity that can only benefit all the other aspects of your life.”
